Make a Gift, Leave a Legacy

On the first day of instruction at Illinois College, Reverend Julian Sturtevant stood before eager students in the unfinished Beecher Hall and marked the occasion with these words: “We are here today to open a fountain where future generations may drink.”

Through planned and estate gifts, you have an opportunity to invest in the education and experiences of future students on the Hilltop while leaving a legacy that will last well after your lifetime. Gifts through a will, trust, life insurance policy, beneficiary designation, or gift annuity are a few of the vehicles available to accomplish your philanthropic goals while also reducing your estate taxes or income taxes. Photo: Unable to attend college, Howard Million established a scholarship through his estate that is making an IC education possible for Morgan County and Greene County students. Million shared his wishes with President Barbara Farley during a visit to mark his 101st birthday, where they posed for this photo. Million passed away in 2014.
